Muse of the week: Jhené Aiko
Stemming off of my “Building a Tribe” post, one of my ideal tribe members (in my mind) Is my Muse of the week. Ms. Jhené Aiko. I have followed Jhené’s career dating back to 2003. And over the last 13 years I have seen her grow from a young girl to a woman, becoming a mother and progressing in her music career. As I stated in the post beforehand, to successfully build a tribe of like minded individuals, you have to have a common goal, an end game. And I can relate to Jhené because of her inclination, her vibe and her personality. I like people who are just chilled. They are calm and project peaceful surroundings. Jhené has not only display this attribution, but she has also managed to integrate it into her music.
Jhené has written so many songs that I can candidly say that I relate to. From love, heartbreak and just normal life lessons. It requires a special type of songwriter who can give a depiction, a vivid verbal interpretation on what they have experienced and put it on wax. Jhené’s talents and her stories speak beyond her age.
