Visuals: Kid Cudi – Frequency

Man. This video is probably one of my all-time favorites. It is one of my favorites because of the dark, sultry vibes that you get from watching it. It is one of the videos along with ‘Surfin’, that Cudi had directed before he went into rehab. Being one of the singles released before the official release of ‘Passion, Pain, and Demon Slayin”, he gave you a teaser of what to expect on the album, and unless you lack a sense of musical taste, you were not disappointed.

The video was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Kid Cudi. “I wanted to just kinda have this woken, trippy world that I have in my mind. And I really wanted to bring people to my mindset. It was cool to build this really immersive set, to me it felt like I was walking through a dream. I wanted to work smarter, not harder this time. So building a forest and having minor changes here and there, was really the goal. I just went in there and kinda put things together as the came into my mind, just one step at a time.” The video ‘Surfin’ was shot the same day. You can watch the behind-the-scenes video down below.
