We all know how controversial the name Kardashian can be, we also know how controversial the union of Kardashian- West can be. In the eve of the sudden but inevitable return of arch nemesis Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian-West and baby girl North West appeared on the cover of Interview magazine looking rather…. Presidental. As Kim channels the late first lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis, daughter North looks as cute and bubbly as she always do, in her very first publicized photo shoot with Mom since her Vogue debut back in 2014. The interview was conducted by Author and TV host Janet Mock and the shots by Steve Klein.
Most recently, Kim was in the middle of a hailstorm of shade and mean comments on her social media accounts before taking refuge for defending problematic makeup mogul Jeffree Starr. Kim made comments that reflected her unknowing of his past of insensitive and offensive remarks and comments of women of color. She later apologized. During the interview, Kim spoke about the filming of 10 year running reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians to raising mixed children:
“I’m very conscious of it. Kanye always has his family around and people who look like my daughter—that’s important to me. She’s obsessed with her curly hair, and if she finds someone who has the same hair, she runs to them and is like, ‘You have curly hair like me?’ And we get to talk about it. We also talk about it with my niece Penelope, because she and North look really different, but they’re best friends and they’re together all the time.”
Alongside her mother, Miss North West was also interviewed and was asked some pretty hard questions, including what is her favorite song from her dad, Kanye West. (It’s AMAZING. No it’s literally the song “Amazing”) North was interviewed by several children of celebrities including, Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, Sean and Jaden Federline, the sons of Britney Spears, Millie Bobby Brown of Netflix’s Stranger Things and cousin Penelope Disick. In the full interview with Kim she shares with Janet Mock that she tends to go to her husband Kanye on advice about her brand and her image.
“I usually go to Kanye for advice about my brand, my life, my image. But if it’s other drama, I go to one of my best friends, Tracy [Nguyen Romulus]. She used to be Kanye’s publicist, and I met her 12 years ago. Now we have kids who are best friends. She’s just a really smart girl, so I always get her opinion on everything. If I wasn’t doing what I’m doing now, or if this doesn’t work out one day, I could so be a publicist. I feel like that’s my job for the family sometimes, at least the crisis part of it.”
She also wants the haters of the world to know that she may be a lot of things, but LAZY isn’t one of them. “You can say a lot of things about me, but you cannot say I don’t work hard. I don’t sing. I don’t dance. I don’t act. But I am not lazy.” Read the full interview with Kim Kardashian West and Janet Mock here.
