Besides dropping two visuals from his forthcoming album, A$AP Rocky has been hushed about his deal with Under Armour, until now.
Back in September 2017, Pretty Flacko announced his partnership with the Sports apparel empire. “I wanted more than a collaboration partner,’” said the Harlem rapper. “The only way to achieve this is with someone who is likeminded. The Under Armour team, and especially CEO and Founder Kevin Plank, has a shared vision, enthusiasm, and desire to do the same. I grew up in Harlem and had limited resources to channel my inner-creativity, so I spent too much time on the streets when I should have been more productive. I now have the ability to create a better situation for today’s kids so they can go from school to a safe place to create without boundaries. Under Armour was the company that was most excited about my idea to turn sportswear products on their head while bettering kids’ lives.”
British director Dexter Navy took to his Instagram and shared what would be our first look at a sample of Rocky’s first collaboration with Under Armour. Navy took to Instagram to post a hazy look at the puffy sneakers. It is said that the design of the sneakers shares some similarities to the Osiris‘ D3 skate shoe, a pair of sneakers Rocky was spotted wearing in an Instagram post in March.
According to Hypebeast.com, “The shoe features a mainly padded mesh upper accented by what looks to be dynamic leather overlays and midfoot cages. The shoe was created in association with A$AP Rocky and is part of Under Armour’s “Sports Style” division, with AWGE branding rounding out the text-heavy design note.”
I hope we get better shots of the sneakers soon because right now it’s a no from me, dawg!
