Visuals: XXXTentacion Leaves an Eerie Final Message With “Sad”

It has been almost two weeks since Florida rapper XXXTentacion was tragically gunned down in his hometown of Miami. Since the news, fans around the world orchestrated memorial services for the slain rapper, including YesJulz of 1AMCreative picking up from his last plans of hosting a charity event by dedicating her #HashtaglunchbagMiami event to his memory. Since his death, X, born Jahseh Onfroy, single “sad” skyrocketed from no. 56 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart to no. 1, exhibiting the importance of X’s music and legacy in the industry.

Today the visual to his now No. 1 single was released to the public with an eerie prophecy of the rapper attending his own funeral. The visual comes as a cold, hard reality for fans as an open casket memorial service for the rapper took place on Wednesday (June 27) in Sunrise, Florida. During the video X is seen engaging in an aggressive fight with the old version of himself. Some may even see a resemblance to Kid Cudi’s memorable video “Mr. Rager”, where Cudi fights a number of enemies before losing the ultimate fight against his alter-ego, Mr. Rager. Throughout the video, XXX converse with a hooded, grim reaper- like figure. “People change, things change, and so did I, As long as the outcome is good for family and myself I’m not complaining.” The visual was directed by JMP and written and creatively directed by X, himself.
