So last night, I attended the 25th-anniversary BAPE HEADS SHOW here in New York City and it was an experience that I will never forget. First, I would like to start off by thanking my good friend Christian, for holding down the fort, meeting me under the frigid weather and waiting with me for almost 6 hours. I have never actually waited ahead of time for a show before and it is probably something I wouldn’t do again unless it is under different circumstances.
A little history on the brand known as “A Bathing Ape”:
Bape first started as a concept introduced by NIGO in 1997. After years of garnering attention from both hypebeasts and music lovers, The BAPE shows was graced by the likes of ENDO, Teriyaki Boyz, Kanye West, and N.E.R.D. The BAPE HEADS SHOW served as a bridge between the creative scene of Tokyo, Japan and hip-hop lovers from around the world.
Last night did not only served as a trip down memory lane for those who have been a BAPE enthusiast from the beginning of time, but also to the new heads who believe it is never too late to get with the program. Held in the Hulu Theater, at Madison Square Garden, we saw the likes of the show saw performances from Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Lil Yachty, Pusha T, and Wiz Khalifa.
