There are tag teams. And then there are movements.

The Street Profits are a movement.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins did not stumble into chemistry. They built it from shared hunger, shared culture, and shared understanding of what it means to represent something bigger than yourself. From the moment they burst onto NXT television, cups in hand and charisma on full display, they felt authentic. Not manufactured hype. Not forced cool. Just two Black men enjoying the grind and inviting the world into it.

Their 2019 NXT Tag Team Championship reign marked the beginning of something larger. They were champions, yes. But they were also proof that Black tag teams could headline without caricature. They were funny without being reduced. Athletic without being boxed in. Entertaining without compromise.

When they moved to the main roster, they did not shrink. They expanded. Raw Tag Team Champions. SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Multi-time titleholders who defended their gold against the best in the division. Their matches were explosive, blending Ford’s aerial brilliance with Dawkins’ underrated agility and raw power. They made tag wrestling feel electric again.

But evolution is the story.

By 2023 and into 2024, The Street Profits stepped into a new chapter alongside Bobby Lashley, embracing a sharper edge and a more polished aesthetic. The suits replaced the solo cups. The smiles turned calculated. They showed the industry that growth does not mean erasing where you came from. It means refining it.

Through 2025, Ford and Dawkins remain essential figures on WWE television. Montez Ford continues to draw singles speculation with his undeniable star presence, while Angelo Dawkins has silenced every doubt about his ability to anchor any match he steps into. Together, they represent loyalty in a business that often fractures partnerships for drama.

Culturally, The Street Profits matter. Black tag teams in WWE history have had flashes of greatness. Ford and Dawkins built sustained excellence. They headline premium live events. They sell merchandise. They speak directly to the audience without code-switching their authenticity.

They are polished and playful. Serious and spectacular. The Street Profits are not a phase of WWE programming. They are proof that when culture and opportunity align, greatness multiplies.

And they are still climbing.
